So it's been a pretty busy week, Lining up all my major project work, finishing off collaboration work and also its Business deadline today but thankfully I handed it all in this morning with hours to spare so no more worries there. Now I can concentrate solely on my major project. Today I plan to finish off all my line work and start on the colour work. Next week plans are designing my backgrounds and props, to hopefully starting a model. I'm really excited about making a model to be honest but first things first is to make sure all my work is roughly completed. Sadly no images to show just yet but stay tuned and there will be some visuals soon.
So as part of my business studies, thought it would be a good idea to have a look at some animation companies. All the links for the companies are on the right hand side :)
The first company that I had a little look at was Moonbot studios, where they create entertainment to an array of media platforms. They make books, films, apps and games. What I really love about this company is how diverse they are and how they make books, books I love books! One of their Short films that I think is just beautiful was The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore which was inspired in equal measures, by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books, “Morris Lessmore” is a story of people who devote their lives to books and books who return the favor, it's about the curative powers of story. Using a variety of techniques such as miniatures, computer animation, 2D animation, award-winning author/illustrator William Joyce and co-director Brandon Oldenburg present a hybrid style of animation. It was also made into a book that you can easily buy on their website.

So I have to say I'm loving painting birds on my procreate app. The brushes on there are great and the blending tool is lovely really recommend buying this app. its not a lot of money its worth an investment. I find that I'm creating this birds when I give my self breaks from work which have is surprisingly relaxing even though its technically work for my personal project oh well method in the madness they say.
So I will admit I hit the proverbial wall with my project in that I had to redo my characters turnarounds and sort out their construction, what a nightmare but luckily now I have sorted it all out with some determination and a butt load of coffee. Also have done my rough expressions sheets and action poses, so all that's left to design are some props and my strip club the main environment for my show. So for the rest of this week I will be pushing to get all my model sheets done, all I can say is there will be some late nights ahead. Also I have my Business deadline this week, so in the coming days I will be posting a few companies that I have researched. Though my blog is in pretty good order and my website is up to scratch as well as my ultimate image. I have also in my very little spare time been working on my C.V that I will also post in the next day or two so keep and eye out for that lovely little bit. I swear it seems that all their is is work but when you love what you do you can't complain or can you ?! on a side note have been under the weather for the past couple of days but managed to continue work which is a big feat for me especially when all I wanted to do was watch movies and eat ice cream to cure my sore throat but oh well enough waffling on here are my final/rough designs of my characters, there are some changes to the designs as when thinking of a character in 3D terms my brain decided to not compute on it, so made things a little easier on my self with the design but still really happy with the look of them. so enjoy :)
p.s sorry for the longness of this post :)

So a part of my major project is to also have a personal project, I've been stacked for ideas for a while but I knew I wanted to do a book of sorts. The other day I was taking a break from my major project and business work and went on my procreate app and decided to do some painting and started to do these birds as I love painting birds traditionally I thought why not have a go doing them digitally for a change and I have to say I really like some of the outcomes so I started to think why not creat a little book of bird illustrations as I had a little look on the blurb website and there's a option for a little book so this has started the ball rolling for me I want to create 20 paintings of different birds for my personal project, well 5 down 15 to go stay tuned as I'll post more as I go along until next time bye for now :)

Aside from Business I've been working on my collaboration work for my project as it counts for 20 marks. I'm doing backgrounds for Ciprian's final film, Character Design's for a band called Vibe Five and a Font Design for Jason's final film.
I've currently finished the designs for Vibe Five, and Jason's font, so I thought I'd upload the band designs and once Jason's approved the font I will upload that to.
So with out further ado here are my band designs.
Hope everyone had a great Easter and had a chocolate overload :) Its now time to get back to work, so I've taken a little break from my major project and have been doing some Business Studies research and development. Been updating my website and working on my Ultimate image. So after a tutorial with Gerald on my website moved a few little things about and some tweaks so be sure to check that out > Robyn Concept Artist < And after discussing what my ultimate image could be I've decided to update and revamp a background I designed last year, I had it displayed on my homepage of my website and thought that it would be a great ultimate image as it tells a story.
|This is what I came up with, redesigned the trees and added a looming creature's shadow, I wanted it to look as if it belonged in a children's book. I also then made the colour's a little more subdued as if this could be happening just before sunset. |
